What Do We Believe?
|
There is one God: The
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; who subsist in
unity, and also as three separate distinct Persons.
Jesus Christ is God's Son. He was born of a
virgin as both God and man, lived a sinless life,
died to atone for the sins of human beings, was
buried, arose from the grave, ascended into heaven
and will literally return to earth.
The Holy Spirit is the divine helper,
assistant, counselor and instructor and His work is
to reveal Christ, convict of sin, lead to
repentance, guide believers, comfort, strengthen,
and sanctify the soul.
The Bible is God's Holy Word, without error,
and is the sole authority for life.
Human beings are the special creations of
God, made in His image. They fell through the sin of
the first man, Adam, and all human beings are
sinners in need of salvation.
Salvation is a gift through repentance toward
God and faith in Jesus Christ. Every person who
truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus
Christ and will spend eternity in heaven, while
those who die in their sins will spend eternity in
hell.
Baptism is by immersion after salvation and
is done in obedience to Jesus Christ's command.
Each believer has direct access to God
through the Lord Jesus Christ.
The church is a local body of baptized
believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head.

Do We Have Childcare?
Yes, not only do we provide a fully staffed nursery during each of our
three weekly worship services for infants, but we also provide classes
and programs for Elementary School aged children. All of our
children's teachers and nursery workers are screened through background
checks and also hand chosen based on their gifts in loving and nurturing
children in the admonition of the Lord.

What Time Are Our Services?
Sunday Morning Bible Study 9:15a.m.
Be sure and drop by at 9:00 in our fellowship hall though because we
have donuts and fresh brewed coffee because we know how time consuming
it can be getting your
family ready on Sunday Mornings! After that, we would love to
direct your children to their classes and also help you choose a class
for yourself to take part in. Adults have many choices that
include both couples classes or classes that are just for men or women
only! Whatever appeals to your preference or comfort we have a
class where you can feel at home and at the same time be nurtured in the
Word of God.
Sunday Morning Worship Service 10:30a.m.
Beginning with singing at 10:30 and concluding with the teaching and
preaching of God's Word verse by verse. Bro. Craig preaches from
the King James Version of the Bible if you would like to follow verse by
verse, but you are welcome to bring the translation of your choice.
Our services conclude around 12:00p.m.
Sunday Evening Bible Study 5:30p.m.
Once again we have classes for children through adults during this hour
of fellowship and study and as always a nursery for infants is provided.
Sunday Evening Worship 6:30p.m.
Many people in modern America opt not to attend evening worship services
and many churches have chosen not to have night services, but we have
found that these are some of our most awesome and meaningful worship
experiences. Not awesome in terms of flash or entertainment but
rather in the fellowship we have and the wonderful presence of God as we
sing to Him and then sense Him calling to us with His Word.
It's hard to put into words, but come take part with us and I am sure
you will see what we mean.
Wednesday Evening Services 6:30p.m.
We have separate worship services for our Adults, Youth, and College age
groups. The Adults meet in the Church Sanctuary for Prayer and
Bible Study and the Youth and College age meet in the Education Building
at the same time for their worship services also. Elementary
School age children have Children's Choir during their Summer Holidays
in the Choir Room at the same time. During the School Year
they take part in AWANA. Check out the Children's Ministry/AWANA
section under the Ministries tab on our Home Page for more details on
our AWANA ministry.

How You Can Find Our Location
There are a couple of detailed ways to find us that are located on our
website but since this is the faq section let's make it as simple as
possible. The one place that just about everybody can find in
Denham Springs is...you guessed it...Walmart! Walmart is located
on Range Blvd. which of course is the main street of Denham Springs.
When you find Walmart, look across the street and you will see the
Pentecostal Church. You're almost there...isn't this exciting!?
You can turn on either side of the Pentecostal Church and go two blocks
behind it. That's where we are located. You can't miss us.
Now that wasn't so bad was it? Come see us this week!

How Many People Attend Don Avenue Baptist Church?
We have an average of about 110 people in Sunday Morning Bible Study and
around 200 people in our Sunday Morning Worship Service. It's kind
of like the story of The Three Bears. It's not too big...It's not
too small...It's just right. Oh, by the way, in case you were
worried...we don't allow bears. LOL. Seriously though, people who
attend Don Avenue come from all over the area...Baton
Rouge...Central...Walker...Watson. We come from all professions
and all walks of life. The one thing we all have in common is that
we want to love and honor Jesus Christ... and we want to be changed by
His presence and His Word. Come Worship with us this week...we'd
love to have you.
