About Our Daycare

Children need to feel good about themselves! Positive guidance techniques are used by our staff to enhance a child’s feeling of self-worth. The daily schedule includes breakfast, lunch, a daily morning and afternoon snack; large and small group interaction which helps the children to learn to cooperate, listen and share; self-elected activities which stimulate cognitive growth and creativity, as well as emotional and social development; and outdoor activities which help develop large and small motor skills.

We are professionals. Our staff, as care-givers and teachers of young children are required to have a minimum of 15 hours each year in continuing child development training. We must also have certification in CPR as well as health and safety classes.

A daily report is filled out for our infants through toddlers and is given to the parent at the end of the day.

Menus as well as lesson plans are posted on the bulletin board in each child’s classroom. A newsletter is sent home once a month advising of upcoming events, birthdays, study themes for the month and other announcements.

Field trips are an integral part of our curriculum. They may include a picnic; a trip to the zoo; four year olds going to the library, or a visit to L.S.U. We even have special guests come by at different times during the year. At Christmas time each year, we have a Christmas program for our 2, 3 and 4 year old classes, at which time they get to perform for their parents. Also, our 4 year old preschoolers have their own graduation at the end of the school year and an end of the year field trip.
